Applied Environmental Awareness is a program of the YMCA dedicated to
spreading awareness of environmental issues through volunteer service
and education. AEA focuses on the surrounding Blacksburg community and
Virginia Tech campus and has initiated programs which specifically
target the general public rather than the student body alone. We strive
to facilitate cooperation with other environmental clubs to ensure
beneficial and long-lasting environmental change.
Our organization is structured into various committees in an attempt to
disperse leadership roles and give every member as much say and control
over the organization as possible. Members play an active role in
developing and executing educational and proactive programs. The AEA
knows that it is your ideas and initiative that make the organization
successful.
